NIA searches Anantnag forest in Red Fort blast probe

National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out searches in a forested belt of Hatmura in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district as part of its probe into last month’s Red Fort blast in New Delhi.

Officials said on Tuesday that NIA teams, assisted by Police and CRPF, brought along two accused to the Mattan forest area after they reportedly disclosed the presence of suspected hideouts used by the module. The search operation continued till last reports.
The forest search is part of efforts to trace the module’s movements, logistics, and possible hideouts in south Kashmir.

The Hatmura search followed a series of simultaneous raids at eight locations across Kashmir and one in Lucknow last week. These raids targeted premises linked to individuals associated with the terror module accused of carrying out the November 10 Red Fort blast, which killed 13 people and injured 32.

There is no official word from NIA on the forest search.
NIA has so far arrested seven accused in the case and continues to “work closely with various state police forces to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module involved in the bomb attack”.
